We have just cast our eyes on the Olympics and seen when human beings cast aside dirty politics and focus on things bearing progress - in winning and losing with grace the human being is graced with gratitude, kindness, and compassion. More it makes us all proud when one human being does us all — proud. This year we witnessed a man run so fast that we could not believe our eyes - this could not have happened without HOPE. It was as if a BOLT of lighting traversed the field with so much ease. To keep HOPE alive he was generous in contributing $50,000 to the victims of an earthquake that recently hit China. Kenya the home where I was born brought gold when the marathon was won by a Kenyan for the first time ever - an Olympic gold. A man with his roots in Kenya today runs for President — again, there can be no desired change without HOPE. The stale wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and else where a fungus is spreading by war-mongers without hope will soon leave office. If this Nation has hope it will replace war with peace, killing with compassion and giving life, destruction with building, disunity with unity. We humans cannot do without this desired - HOPE. As the Director of Environmental Justice Advocacy we have been on the front line to address issues that most folks talk about in vain - less act with a nonchalant attitude. Corporations and ³thug environmentalist² pretend that they understand environmental issues but fail to comprehend less see ³environmental injustice² - right here in San Francisco. One cannot fight injustice, discrimination - if one does not have a vision but more HOPE. Poor people have been exploited throughout generations and here in America the glaring example are the bearers that respected Mother Earth for thousands of years - the Native Americans. Once they owned all of the land - today they live on Reservations that the exploiters have reserved for them. Many of them live so that they can better themselves and they take their courage from - HOPE. They have learned that from the great Grandfather. Children all over the world cannot comprehend why they must suffer when corrupt adults waste money on wars, corruption, and things mundane. This Nation has spent BILLIONS on war - while at home we have aged and crumbling infrastructure, inferior education, expensive health care, the rich growing richer while the poor suffering. The middle class, the back bone of any economy is rapidly - eroding. We can only HOPE the present administration is removed from office and all vestiges of this corrupt government - cast into fire to perish forever. There is no tragedy that will dampen the spirit of any human being that has a high dose of HOPE. Hope will bring more hope and a rainbow that all can see and admire and bring about change and desired progress. HOPE has challenged the human spirit and there will no end to this belief. If human beings in the majority seek what is right - change will come and more with HOPE. We must bring change as long as we have - HOPE. We see Hope in Katrina - even as we see HOPE at Hunters Point in the San Francisco. Corrupt developers like Lennar will vanish and collapse. We hope against hope but do this in a spiritual sense - because we believe and HOPE. We are about to see HOPE in action - a change with a new administration in the White House - a casting out of that that has dampened the spirit of so many for so long - all over the world. We hope for the best - because we have a clear vision and the world cannot rely on more of the same. In Hope we see change and in change we see - progress. It has been over sixty years when America deemed fit to drop an Atomic bomb to end a war but ended up creating endless suffering and a cloud that hovers with a worse ending- nuclear. The last two wars were created by those that could have prevented it- in an arena that was greedy and devoid of human understanding less compassion. There seems to be no HOPE when one race thinks it is superior and can stomp the whole world - unchecked. The so-called Western Economy is faltering and with it - the poor values that fundamentally are weak and crumbling. The Federal Bank and entities such as Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac - are the joke of the village. The Federal Bank prints money and it is no true Federal respected entity. More the dollar has no gold backing as years before - and worth less then two cents - anyway one looks at it. There is no HOPE in a monetary system that is full of greed and less accountability - still less transparency and controlled by a few ³global thugs² with world wide - tentacles- meant to suffocate - progress of the majority. We seek and see in Hope - more than we see at this moment - anything else. Human beings are suffering not because it is their fault but because some corrupt folks in high places - devoid of a moral compass - have not been checked. Hope brings change - and change is excellent. Hope brings progress and the climate must change. Corrupt developers and money changers must be checked and let go. We cannot enjoy HOPE with more of the same - while the fox is in the chicken coop. There will be changes in the year 2009 because in suffering and despair the right forces will take up the challenges to bring about change - fundamental change with HOPE that supports right causes. There will be righteous forces that for too long have waited - because the time in now - HOPE.
